In Community Programs
StrongMindโs 6 and 12 Month Community Programs bring longโterm behaviour change, emotional regulation, and leadership development directly into local communities. Designed for men navigating addiction, anger, trauma, and disconnection, these programs provide consistent, grounded support without requiring participants to leave their families, responsibilities, or community.
Programs are fully adaptable and can be delivered weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or as fullโweek intensives, depending on community needs, location, and budget. Programs begin with a format that suits each community โ from singleโday introductions to multiโday intensives โ followed by a structured rhythm of group workshops and oneโonโone therapeutic sessions that build trust, accountability, and realโworld change over time.
The 6 & 12 month pathways explore themes such as emotional regulation, AOD recovery, relapse prevention, fatherhood, relationships, identity, suicide prevention, and community leadership. Facilitators combine lived experience with professional training to create safe, stigmaโfree spaces where men can heal, grow, and reconnect with purpose.
Across the year, participants receive group workshops, personalised case planning, strengthsโbased coaching, and ongoing behavioural support. Communities also benefit from optional staff upโskilling, AOD and suicideโprevention forums, and the development of local peer mentors who continue the work long after the program ends.
StrongMindโs longโterm programs strengthen men, families, and communities by embedding healing into everyday life โ not removing men from it.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP: WORKING WITH MEN IN CYCLES OF ADDICTION & VIOLENCE
StrongMindโs oneโday Staff Development Workshop equips SEWB teams, peer workers, case managers, and frontline staff with the practical tools needed to work safely and effectively with men stuck in cycles of addiction, violence, and harmful behaviours. Delivered faceโtoโface by facilitators with deep lived experience and professional expertise, this workshop blends evidenceโbased strategies with realโworld frontline insight.
Participants explore the root causes behind addiction, anger, shame, and emotional shutdown, while learning traumaโinformed, grounded approaches that strengthen engagement and accountability. Through interactive sessions and scenarioโbased learning, staff build confidence in navigating volatility, supporting behaviour change, and creating emotionally safe environments for men to open up and take ownership of their healing.
Highly recommended for frontline SEWB & AOD staff, peer workers, case managers, and professionals supporting men in recovery, this workshop provides practical tools that can be applied immediately in community settings. Each session is tailored to the needs, language, and priorities of the host organisation, ensuring relevance and impact.
Delivered in partnership with our friends at Rolling With The Punches &/or The Rise Foundation this training is more than professional development โ itโs a powerful, grounded learning experience that strengthens teams, services, and the communities they support.
